I "dinged" the rating by 1-star for this. I figured the savings with not needing to buy a sump filter trumped the other pan. I still think this is a nice pan but it was something I was considering, why I went with this pan versus a different one that received very high praise. Is this a huge deal? Should this change your decision to purchase this pan? No and no. I went out and bought a new filter just to have the o-ring on hand if I need it, which will have cost me an additional $30. When your vehicle is immobilized is not the best way to find out you do not have everything you need to complete your work.
I know you do not need to replace IF the existing one is in good shape BUT the only way to find out is when you have the pan dropped and can inspect it. HOWEVER, it does not come with the o-ring.

Buying through Geno's, you receive a free sump filter. While I hate to complain about free, I do have one gripe. I like that the pan came with all the hardware required, including an allen wrench (in case you do not have one). The added drain plug is a bonus to make changes much easier and cleaner. Due to my personality and liking everything "over-engineered" I purchased this pan to add additional fluid to my transmission with the intention of slower heat fluctuation during warm-up, cool-down, and more fluid that theoretically will take longer to break-down in-between service intervals.
